How much does Girls' Generation actually earn?

If there is one thing that the public is curious about, it has to be celebrities' earnings because of the rarity of which they is mentioned. However, there are celebrities who drop hints at their salary, and Girls' Generation is one of them.

Girls' Generation made an appearance on "Happy Sunday" awhile ago, where member Yuri commented, "We split event fees equally nine ways. The person who earns the most is probably the member who does the most advertisements."

tvN "eNEWS" dug deeper in analyzing the nine members' individual intakes. According to "eNEWS," Jessica and Tiffany -- who acted in musicals "Legally Blond" and "Fame" respectively -- earned 3 million won (approximately 2,600 USD) per performance, totaling 30 million won over ten performances.

Taeyeon earned approximately 318 million won over her two years as a radio DJ and through her musical performances (radio DJs earn about 4 hundred thousand won per day).

The youngest member Seohyun comes in with about 400 million won because of her various activities as a model (models earn about 200 million won per advertisement).

Lastly, Yoona has pocketed something in the vicinity of 3.4 billion won through her personal activities in dramas and advertisements (approximately 1 billion won for her drama appearances and 2.4 billion for her six advertisements).

As a group, they brought in 60.1 billion won ($53.9 million USD) through their Japanese activities alone.

Seonghwan ask Sunny about the Difficulties as a member of SNSD

This is a must to read for Sones: Sunny talked to Seonghwan about the difficulties she met as a member of SNSD:

"In my situation, when the debut was approaching, I had a lot of concerns. As a large group
of people debuting from a huge company, we received a lot of attentions. In the midst of this... Am I allowed to say this?... I'm the niece of the company's representative. As a result I was handicapped in many ways (restrained). I joined the group late, and I'm the niece of the representative.. Moreover (I joined the group) with the condition that I had a friendly look - being short, with chubby and compact body shape, ordinary looks.. I felt small and diffident when we went around as a group..

But Kim Je-dong oppa told me some good advice - 'Just as there are people who are fond of you, there will always be people who dislike you.' Because there are people who like me, there will also be people who dislike the same side of me that others prefer. So I think I don't have to change myself for people who don't understand me."

The old woman complimented, “It tastes very good,” and Sunny replied, “Grandma, you shouldn’t say it even before you chew on it. Is it really good?” But the old woman kept on saying, “It tastes good,” inspiring laughter.
After having a nice meal, Sunny loosened up said in a lazy tone, “Ah, now we’re done eating, let’s take a nap.” On seeing this, Bora, who had been acting like an older sister throughout the shooting, scolded, “Hey, we should cleaned up!” and Sunny quickly straightened up.

[Interview] Girls’ Generation, “We want to go on a world tour!

“Were we intimidated by the audience?” (Tiffany)
“Not at all! We enjoyed the stage.”
It was just as expected from Korea’s top girl group Girls’ Generation, as they appeared one after another on main American talk shows. On January 31st, the girls appeared on CBS’s show ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ showing a strong and synchronized performance, and then appeared on ‘Live! with Kelly’ the next morning on February 1st grabbing the attention of viewers across America. Of course, wherever Girls’ Generation went, a crowd of fans also followed. After their recording at ABC, Joongang Daily met up with Girls’ Generation at their hotel.
It is the first time that a Korean artist appeared on all three main broadcasts, how do you feel?
Tiffany: I guess since I grew up in America being told that we would be appearing on these shows made me cry.
Weren’t you nervous?
Sooyoung: Because it was a live performance we felt a little bit of pressure. And on top of that it was David Letterman Show’s 30th anniversary so that just made it even more nerve wrecking.
Tiffany: During the rehearsals we were all jetlagged, but once the camera started rolling, we all screaming and just enjoying ourselves.
Taeyeon: It was the first time that we had performed this song with a live band, so it was very exciting for all of us. If another opportunity arises, we wish to perform with the live band again.
What kind of conversation did you share with David Letterman?
Jessica: Mr. Letterman shook our hands and told us that our performance was ‘absolutely fantastic’. We were all happy after hearing that.
How was the talk show with Kelly Ripa?
Seohyun: It was fun when we were teaching Kelly one of our dance moves. We all enjoyed ourselves. And a lot of our fans were also in the crowd, so it really gave us strength when we heard them singing along and cheering us on.
The audiences’ reaction was very hot.
Tiffany: We were only able to get this far due to our loyal and passionate fans. Wherever we go, they were always with us giving us strength. But we were really surprised to hear our fans cheering from inside the American TV studios.
Last year you performed at Madison Square Garden and now three main broadcasting stations. What is your next goal?
Yuri: We want to start an American tour, and dreaming a bit bigger, our big hope is to also do a world tour.
Taeyeon: We travel a lot overseas for our solo concert as well as other performances so there is one little thing that I wish to accomplish. And that is going on a world tour in our own private plane. (laughs)
In order to increase your activities in the US, wouldn’t you need to study more English?
Tiffany: We are studying hard in order to do our interviews all in English. There are a few members that are especially good at learning languages, such as Sooyoung and Seohyun.
Sooyoung: Thank you! (smiles)
Do you have plans on releasing an English album?
Tiffany: We do have plans on releasing an American album around spring or summer. Please look forward to its release.
Having nine members and having to always be around each other, do you get into fights or arguments?
Yuri: Of course we do. But because we all grew up together from such a young age we’re all pretty much sisters. We know what the other wants just by looking at their eyes.
Tiffany: Just like any family, if there is a mischievous and cheeky member, there’s also the kind and gentle older sister-like figure. We’re just one big family.

Daniel Radcliffe chose Tiffany and Taeyeon as prettiest members of Girls’ Generation

Recently, on ABC’s ‘LIVE! with Kelly’, Daniel Radcliffe has revealed the fact that he has Girls Generation’s album and he also chose Tiffany as the prettiest member.
The truth is that during the ‘Woman In Black’ movie premiere, a Korean staff gave Daniel Radcliffe Girls’ Generation’s album. Receiving the gift, Daniel said with a bright smile, “Thank you very much. Even though I don’t know K-Pop well, after seeing the album, I think I want to know more,” and showed his liking for Girls’ Generation.

SNSD’s Jessica Receives Mixed Responses for her Acting

After last night’s episode of KBS’s “Wild Romance” aired, SNSD’s Jessica received both praise and criticism for her acting skill. In the tenth episode, Kang Jong Hee (Jessica) undergoes a severe seizure after she finds her cat brutally killed. She starts shaking violently and shouting nonsensically, and a heartbroken Mu Yeol (Lee Dong Wook) tries to calm her down by holding on to her and comforting her.
The scene revealed a completely different Jong Hee than the bright and cheerful girl viewers were introduced to in previous episodes. While she didn’t receive much criticism when she portrayed the happy-go-lucky Jong Hee, Jessica received mixed responses from fans for her “seizure act.”
Some commented on her awkward expressions and lacking acting skill, stating, “You call this a seizure? I wouldn’t have known had they not told us,” “It must be hard for her because she joined the drama later, but she still should have studied her character and craft a bit more,” “She’s simply trying to act pretty,” and more.
Others defended the singer, “She’s improving every day. I can’t wait to see more of her,” “As an idol, she’s definitely doing a great job,” and “I was drawn into her emotions during her seizure scene.”
